History and Background

Originally from Mamou, Louisiana, Bridget has had a deep love for animals since she was a young girl. Growing up, she was surrounded by a wide variety of pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and even a pet flying squirrel she tamed herself. That early connection with animals inspired her to explore the veterinary field, and during high school, she had the opportunity to observe at Dr. Armand Coreil's veterinary clinic in Ville Platte. That experience confirmed that working in veterinary medicine was exactly what she wanted to do.

Professional Journey

Bridget's passion for helping animals led her to pursue a degree in veterinary technology from Northwestern State University. She completed her internship at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999, and soon began working with Dr. Armand Coreil — a partnership that lasted 21 years. During that time, she served as both a Registered Veterinary Technician and a practice manager, developing skills in IV placement, ICU nursing care, blood collection, radiology, surgical assistance, and client education. She briefly stepped away to become a professional dog trainer and opened her own business, Paw Fit, but missed the hands-on nursing care that originally drew her to the field.

Where She Is Now

Today, Bridget works part-time at Bellevue as a Registered Veterinary Technician, assisting in exam rooms, the treatment area, and surgery. She is passionate about providing top-level patient care and making sure every animal receives the attention and support they need. With her background in professional dog training, she is also able to offer behavior support and training advice to pet owners. At home in Mamou, she shares life with her husband, Paul, and their furry crew: their German Shepherd, Doc, their Great Pyrenees, Rex, their Terrier Mix, Bonnie, their Yorkie, Pixie, and their cat, Martie. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, studying the Bible, camping, exercising, tending both their veggie and native prairie gardens, as well as spending time with family and friends.
